Some welding shops will replace the liner at least once per year. It looks like a small piece of felt.Ģ- How will used is the liner? They do wear over time. Not only does this lube the wire but also wipes off any dust/dirt of the wire before entering the liner. Posted 11:17 (#3796533 - in reply to #3796322) Subject: RE: Mig welder tip keeps sticking. That tub of nozzle dip has been sitting & not opened since. I bought a recessed nozzle for my gun (tip is recessed into the nozzle ) & have had no problems welding since, on both thin & thick material. I tried different adjustments & even that nozzle dip. This worked fine when welding on some thin material, but when welding 1/2", I was forever having the wire weld to the tip. When I got my MIG, it came with a flush nozzle. What to do?Ĭheck to make sure the tip is centered in nozzle. Posted 09:25 (#3796335 - in reply to #3796322) Subject: RE: Mig welder tip keeps sticking. Tip to cone, cone should protrude appx 1/8 inch beyond tip, wire speed or voltage to high, welding cable needs to be in a loop, Scott. ![]() Posted 09:24 (#3796334 - in reply to #3796322) Subject: RE: Mig welder tip keeps sticking. ![]() Is it possible there is a problem somewhere else in the welder causing this issue? What do you guys do to stop your mig welder from welding itself to the brass tip? I seem to be going through a lot of tips lately, or at least forever cutting the wire off the tip with sidecutters.
